Support Small a Business

Each day, you are probably presented with several chances to support small businesses in the communities where you live and work. When you are presented with such an opportunity - such as finding a contractor for your home improvement project or looking for an advertising professional for your latest work project - remember WCIG mission to help women, minorities and those of lower income in their pursuit of self-sufficiency through entrepreneurship.

Contributions
WCIG's many endeavors would not be possible without the generous support of individuals, foundations and corporations. Donations of time, items and finances are significant in helping us meet the needs of the communities we serve. Your contribution enables us to further our economic impact throughout Lynn and Massachudetts.

Be assured that your contribution will make a difference in the lives of our members.
Click on the "Donate" button below and support this course. One year from the day we receive your support, WCIG will send you a gift certificate of the amount you support us with plus 10%.  Be assured that your contribution will make a difference in the lives of our members.

Volunteer Oportunities

WCIG offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for professionals and entrepreneurs who wish to give back to the business community. Our volunteer activities are unique in that they allow the individual to utilize their experience, skills and professional expertise to help a local small business.

Classroom guest speakers

We are looking for entrepreneurs who would share their experiences, struggles and successes as a small business owner. We also are seeking professionals, such as attorneys, accountants, bankers, and marketing experts, who would share their knowledge with new and future entrepreneurs.

One-on-one volunteers
WCIG also matches volunteers to work one-on-one with our members. We will be recruiting individuals who would act as consultants in their field of expertise on a short-term basis, as well as persons to serve as mentors to a small business owner for six months or longer.

9 REASONS TO SUPORT THIS PROJECT

  • Job creation
  • Inspiration of the disadvantaged communities
  • Pride to community
  • Bring back hope to the hopeless.
  • Encourage citizens to be ready to go the extra mile for their community
  • Developments of morals for disadvantaged people
  • The disadvantaged groups will participate in fight to make Lynn, and the world a better place.
  • Reduction in crime
  • WCIG does not feed the poor like other organizations do but gets the poor out of poverty for good.

In-Kind support

WCIG also accepts in kind support. Some will be used directly to start businesses for members while some will be sold at a WCIG yard sales or consignment store and the cash will be used to finance bussinesses for members.
My thoughts today are around all the things that make supporting the needs in our community financially so important.
  1. How many pairs of black shoes, shorts, tee shirts, swimsuits, flip flops, do you really need?
  2. Most likely, you have a place to lay your head tonight while it is safe to say that some don't.
  3. You might not like what you ate for dinner tonight, but you had something to eat, which cannot be said for all of our fellow citizens.
  4. It doesn't matter what neighborhood  you are from,  all areas of the city have challenges and there are nonprofits in all counties making a difference
  5. So many organizations are understanding the importance of community citizenship and investing their money generously.
  6. Everyday citizen are starting groups to address the needs!
  7. Because we need to redefine what "Keep WCIG Weird" really means. Wouldn't it be nice to be weird because we are the only organization in the United States that really wants to help the poor without caring about credit history or collateral...... you get the idea. "Not a fisher for the needy but a supplier of the hook and net"
  8.  If everybody just gave one dollar.....
  9. Ignoring needs and challenges in our community does nothing but prolong an opportunity to fix it.
